Pronounced “Kee-rah.”

Ciara is an Irish GP who graduated from the school of medicine in the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2014.

She went on to work in Ireland, New Zealand and Melbourne thereafter gaining invaluable experience in a broad range of different medical specialties.

She returned to Ireland in 2019 to undertake GP training in Dublin. She worked in psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, palliative care and dermatology as well as general medicine and geriatrics. She also worked with marginalised groups affected by homelessness, drug addiction and asylum seekers.

She won the Ellard W. Eppel prize for first place in the MICGP examinations and finishing top of her GP graduating year in Ireland in 2023.

She has extra qualifications in the forms of certificates in dermatology and diplomas in musculoskeletal medicine and obstetrics and gynaecology. She has also undertaken additional training in sexual health, performing steroid joint injections and the insertion of long- acting reversible contraceptives including mirena and copper coils and Implanon.

Ciara has an interest in all aspects of general practice and relishes managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease. She has particular interest in women’s health including contraception, fertility and the menopause. She also enjoys dermatology and is shortly due to undertake additional training in dermoscopy examination.

Outside of work Ciara enjoys keeping fit, watching sports and is kept busy keeping her one year old daughter out of trouble!

Ciara has a very holistic and patient- centred approach and values careful listening, clear communication, and shared decision-making, ensuring patients feel heard, informed, and confident in their care.
